The Karate classes are held:
- Thursday between 6:30-8:30pm
- Rothwell Sports Centre, LS26 8EL
- 6:30-7:30pm generally beginners
- 7:30-8:30pm more advanced
The training fees are £6.00 for one hour or £7.00 for the two hours. There are no monthly/hidden cost – you simply pay for each class you attend.
As well as training every Thursday the club takes part in other events such as Karate seminars, competitions etc. Please take a look at the events link on the home page for more information about these events.
Beginners are always welcome regardless of age, experience.
Your first session is free and all you need is loose clothing – you’ll be training bare foot. If you have any queries or concerns before you attend at the club please don’t hesitate to contact us – see the contact us page for details.
With regards to buying a Karate Gi (the traditional white suit/belt) or any other equipment we would suggest that you attend the class a few times before purchasing anything. This way you can decide as to whether Karate is for you or not with out the expense of buying equipment: the club has gloves and pads that can be used. If you decide to train on a regular basis (which we hope you will!) you can speak to one of the instructors with regards to where to purchase a Gi etc.
If you do decide to train regularly eventually you’ll need a licence for insurance purposes – this is approximately £10.00 a year.
